Interesting beta data from a new(ish) European project (aiming to provide a free vacancy data tracking service) shows there were approximately 59,000 advertised vacancies for tech specialists in the UK during the final quarter of 2017 – a 15% increase on the previous year. The most notable increase in demand over the Q4.16-7 period was for telecoms engineers (up 118%) though demand for networking professionals as a group was down by 9%. Development positions – the mainstay of the tech market (56% of advertised vacancies in Q4.17) were associated with a demand increase of 16% over the year. Please note that: (a) the data is in beta at the moment and, (b) the figures/changes quoted here are quarterly averages – drop me a note if you need any more detail!
