In the last quarter of 2017, the estimated number of unemployed tech specialists in the UK (ILO definition) fell to 30,000 people. As a result there was a corresponding fall in the associated unemployment rate – from 2.4% to 2.2% over the Q3-Q4.17 period. The overall UK unemployment rate also fell during the last quarter of the year – though at 4.2% (Q4.17), it was still almost twice the level as that recorded for tech specialists.
