UK businesses (enterprises) appear more likely to undertake ICT activities using in-house staff than organisations in other parts of the EU.

Perhaps contrary to what we read in the press, UK enterprises (with more than 10 staff and not including financial services – don’t look at me this is a Eurostat/ONS thing that they have been messing up on for years) appear less likely to contract work out to external suppliers than other EU businesses – both with regards development and maintenance/support activity.

When considering the ‘ICT function’ as a whole this also holds true with 25% of UK enterprises stating that the ICT function was mainly delivered by their own employees compared with 17% of EU businesses.
